Who we are and what this covers
These terms cover the website at scalapod.com and the Scalapod app, both made by Centaur Creations, Pune, India. By using either, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use them.
The beta
Scalapod is pre-release software. It may have bugs, it may change without notice, and we may pause or end the beta at any time. We will try to keep your progress, but during a beta we cannot promise it, so please don't rely on Scalapod as your only record of anything.
Android testers join through Google Play's closed testing, which has its own terms from Google.
Using Scalapod
- Use it for yourself, to learn. Don't resell access or wrap it in another product.
- Don't try to break it, overload it, scrape it, or get around any limits.
- Keep your account details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using them.
- You must be at least 13 to create an account.
Content and credit
The technical facts in Scalapod follow the System Design Primer by Donne Martin, licensed CC BY 4.0. Our stories, drawings, quizzes, the name Scalapod and Pod the octopus are ours and may not be copied for another product.
You are welcome to share screenshots and talk about what you learned. Please don't republish whole lessons or pass them off as your own.
Your feedback
If you send us ideas, bug reports or suggestions, we can use them to improve Scalapod without owing you anything. We will thank you, though.
No warranties, limited liability
Scalapod is provided as is. We don't guarantee it will always be available, accurate or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using it or being unable to use it. It is a learning app, not advice for running your production systems.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute goes to the courts of Pune, Maharashtra. If you are a consumer somewhere with rules that give you more protection, those rules still apply to you.
Changes
When these terms change we update the date at the top. Continuing to use Scalapod after a change means you accept the new terms.
